JY Originals was commissioned to bring a welcoming neighborhood feel + retail experience to a new Oswego equity-focused dispensary through mural making.

Notable details about the design:

There are 9 different types of plants — some recognizable + some imaginative — but all locally-inspired by the artist’s time spent in the quaint village of Oswego. The plants marked by Young’s signature triangles represent each of the individual 9 women founders who make up this tight-knit community. There are also 6 brick clusters on the wall to pay homage to the 6 foundational retail locations opening.

Together, these make Market 96.

The mural is also intended to encourage photos + further interaction with customers through augmented reality, adding more depth + excitement to the retail experience.
