CROSSOVER, ROUND21 PARTNERSHIP | 2023

round21 — a company known to unlock expression through sports — introduced Janel Young as a new artist partner joining the round21 Creator Collective. Janel reimagined the round21 basketball into a colorful pattern-based work of art she calls "Crossover."

In this “FreeStyle drop,” Janel uses various soothing + saturated colors inspired by the WNBA + JY Originals color ways as a base, along with her signature tribal triangles that represent community, support + togetherness. "Crossover" is designed to evoke a sense of positivity + represent how things that we do in work, life, + through relationships are interrelated, interdependent + can all cross over.

All proceeds from the 1 of 1 custom ball were put toward the 2023 JYO Scholarship for Creatives.
